  2. Real-Life Solutions: Avoid becoming a legal “sitting duck” by organizing your wealth to deter frivolous lawsuits and minimize settlements.
  3. Expert-Approved Tools: Learn how to implement practical layers like umbrella insurance, holding companies, and domestic asset protection trusts, all tailored to protect your unique situation.

Lesson summary

Lawsuits are a real risk for doctors and other high earners, and the asset protection advice out there often conflicts. In this video I lay out seven steps in order: forming LLCs, keeping real estate separate from your business, setting up a holding company, respecting the entity structure you create so it holds up, asset protection trusts including domestic asset protection trusts, carrying enough insurance such as umbrella coverage, and reviewing the setup as your situation changes. The goal is a structure that makes you a harder target and limits what is exposed if someone does sue. I’m not an attorney, and state laws on entities and trusts differ a lot, so work with an asset protection attorney before you set anything up.
